What happens if the life insured and the beneficiary die together or within 30 days of the same event?
In most provinces, the beneficiary is assumed to have died before the life insured unless stated otherwise in the
- policy contract or
- beneficiary declaration
TIP: Have a contingent beneficiary since the primary beneficiary could die before the life insured.
