Life Insured (or Lives Insured)

An insurance policy contract is based on the life insured. Some contracts allow more than one life insured (Joint First To Die or Joint Last To Die).

The life insured has no rights under the insurance contract, unless also the policyowner.

During underwriting, the following information is required

  • age
  • gender
  • smoking status
  • health
  • hazards (e.g., from occupation or hobbies)
